Sunday Recap: You Control Your Mindset.

Happy Sunday fam. Another quarantine week down. With society having to slow down a bit, it’s given me a lot more room to focus on myself and how I handle my everyday experiences.

I like to think I’m getting a lot better at shifting my environment when something bothers me. I’ve been catching myself quickly when I have a sour attitude or snap at others. Everyday I’m realizing how in control I am. It really is how you decide to perceive your situation.

The purpose of practicing gratitude is exactly this-realizing there are two sides to every coin. There are multiple ways to look at any situation and therefore multiple ways to react. Keeping up with this practice has been a challenge at times, some days my mind will go blank as if I can’t think of anything to be thankful for. None-the-less, I’ve set the intention to begin my day with gratitude and I’ve grown a deeper appreciation for everything in my life.

Another thing I’ve kept in mind this past week: prioritizing what is important to me and that those priorities may not seem important to other people. There’s a million and one things going on everyday, so what are you going to focus on? I always pick three things. This week my three things were: getting consistent sleep, de-cluttering and rearranging my bedroom. I’m happy to report that all three things were accomplished.

I think the obvious priorities in my life would have been writing for my blog or creating content for Instagram, but when choosing your three things you need to think in terms of what will help move you forward and if it’s something that you really need to focus on.

For example, I’ve been on a content creation roll. I don’t really have to put focus on it because it’s just happening on its own. Three weeks from now this might be different, but right now it’s a non-issue. What has been an issue is getting consistent sleep. And doing all three of the above are contributing to my sleep issue.

Anyways, I feel like I’m rambling a bit. All in all, it was a good week. I am lucky enough to only need to consider the current situation as a bump in the road, but to be quite honest I’ve become used to it now.

These are my top three for this week:

  • find a workout structure that works for me – I’m still struggling to find a structured routine when it comes to my workouts, I need to come up with a way to move everyday.
  • post items to Poshmark/Mercari and organize donations – I decluttered a lot this weekend….
  • write letter to penpals – I decided to get back into writing letters. if you want to be penpals feel free to send me your mailing address!
