Since I haven’t done a Sunday Recap in awhile, I thought I would catch you up on my COVID-19 experience.
Right now I live in Maryland, and we are currently under a stay-at-home order. Luckily, I work for an essential business and am still able to go into the office everyday. This has definitely kept me in a routine, and the stress of income hasn’t been an issue thus far.
The first week of the stay-at-home order, work slowed down immensely. I found myself twiddling my thumbs more often than not. By the weekend, I didn’t do much of anything, and on that Sunday I was really down because of it. It’s funny how doing a whole lot of nothing can make me so sad. I felt like I no longer had a purpose.
I decided to switch my mindset that Sunday evening and went into my second week creating purpose for myself. I’ve become more active on my Instagram, have written out goals for my blog and social media accounts, and am committing to posting three days a week (the goal is Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday so hold me accountable!)
A few other things I’ve been focused on: staying up-to-date but not consuming myself with the news, doing things that I want to do when I want to do them, and keeping up with friends when I can.
I am naturally more of an introvert, I like to do my own thing and I don’t like being questioned about it. I enjoy spending time with friends and family but am easily burnt out. So if I’m being honest, being able to slow down during this time has been very relieving for me.
The transition itself has been tough but now I’m in a comfortable state. This week I’m going to switch that up a bit and start to prepare for when life gets a little wild again. I feel okay with where things are at, which is a sign for me that it’s time to mix it up.
This week I’m planning to:
- Go to bed and wake up at the same time everyday. My sleep schedule has been out of control and it’s time to get that more in check.
- Rearranging my bedroom. I’m starting to get irritated with the setup-which happens every few months or so. What better time for change right!?
- De-clutter and organize. I started this process a few months back and never fully finished. So this week is time to finish posting clothes on Poshmark and make a giveaway pile.
And that’s pretty much the update. I’m taking things one day at a time and trying not to focus on too much at once.
